Kidawa and Mwinyi 3-year-old Mwinyi has a presidential name but a lifestyle that is far from it. (Mwinyi’s father was an admirer of former Tanzanian President Mwinyi, and so, gave his son the same name) Last year Mwinyi’s father died of a heart attack leaving his wife Kidawa alone to fend for their 4 children. When her husband died his family demanded the house that Kidawa & her family lived in. The family has allowed Kidawa and her 4 children to stay in one room of the house. Kidawa’s eldest son is 15. He left school and sells vegetables to help make a living. Life is tough and with a difficult living situation Kidawa is desperate to move back to the coastal region where she grew up so that she can live with her sister. Her dream is to get enough money together to open a café with her sister. Her dream has a roadblock she needs to get around first – that roadblock is the fare to get back home in the first place.
